Fauxskin Floorcloths was founded in 1987 and was based on two simple philosophies; create attractive hand-painted floorcloths that displayed the beautiful patterns of large mammals without harming a single creature, and use a portion of the proceedes from the sales of those paintings to help preserve habitat and save the most endangered of their subjects. It was hoped that by purchasing a faux tiger, someone could save a real one. At the same time, a persons' own habitat, be it apartment or palace, could be livened up with an unusual and attractive accessory. As time went on, Fauxskins decided to embrace new technology that allowed our artists to design a floorcloth, and then digitally print it instead of hand-painting it. This opened up new vistas for us, allowing for custom printing and color variations. Our floorcloths and wallhangings are as attractive and durable as ever, but can be sent to you in days instead of weeks, as was the case with hand painting. All products will last a lifetime with proper care, and each purchase helps conserve the big cats who need it most.
